Hafnium

Hafnium

Hafnium is a ductile, shiny, silvery metal.
It resists corrosion and is chemically similar to zirconium.
Hafnium is primarily used in neutron control systems in nuclear reactors, and in submarines, primarily due to its very high capacity to absorb neutrons (its absorption capacity being around 600 times that of zirconium).
Furthermore, it has very good mechanical properties and excellent resistance to corrosion.
